As of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, more than 400 Connecticut residents were still without power as Eversource continues efforts to make repairs across the state more than a week after the storm struck.
United Illuminating reported that each of its 337,528 Connecticut customers have had the power restored.
Communities in Connecticut with the highest number of outages are:
Greenwich (56), Wilton (50), Westport (32), Redding (18), Newtown (18), New Canaan (18), Oxford (17), Southbury (17), Norwalk (15) Stamford (14), and Danbury (8).
Complete restoration is expected before 12 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14.
According to Eversource, “Crews are embedded in the hardest-hit areas of the state and remain laser-focused on restoring single or scattered outages. These are more complex and take additional time to complete.
“Lineworkers are going to each of these individual locations to assess what additional equipment or effort may be required to make repairs,” the company continued. “Eversource customer care specialists are working with customers who are still without power, regularly providing updates on the restoration work connected to their outage.”
“We know how urgently customers need their power restored, especially right now given the pandemic and hot summer weather, and we are making significant progress,” Eversource President of Regional Electric Operations Craig Hallstrom said.
“Our crews and the thousands of out-of-state crews working alongside them have done a tremendous job under difficult conditions – working in the heat while abiding by social distancing and pandemic safety protocols.
"The field crews and thousands of support personnel working behind the scenes are committed to staying on the job until every customer has their power back.”
